Turkey Adopts Updated MRL Regulation

At the beginning of this year, Turkey's Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock adopted an updated Regulation on Maximum Residue Limits of Food Codex Pesticides establishing and updating MRLs on various food and animal commodities (link in Turkish). These MRLs are currently in effect.
This updated regulation is part of Turkey's effort to harmonize with MRL values and standards maintained by the European Union. It should be noted that MRLs established in this regulation are not always aligned with MRLs currently enforced by the EU, as the EU frequently updates its MRLs.
Adopted and updated MRLs from this regulation will display in the Global MRL Database by April 1, 2017.
EFSA Opens Public Consultation on Ziram
On March 31, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) opened a public consultation on the active substance ziram. Comments on the rapporteur Member State assessment reports must be sent to EFSA by May 31, 2017.
The European Union's current ziram MRLs display in the Global MRL Database.
EFSA Publishes Reasoned Opinion on Triflumizole
